Michelle D. Land, J.D.
Michelle Land is the director of the Environmental Consortium of Hudson Valley Colleges and Universities.
Land was appointed as the first Director of the Consortium in October 2004. She provides leadership to the
Consortium by implementing the policies, activities, and work plans of the Consortium.
Since 2002, Land has been program coordinator for the Pace Academy for the Environment at Pace University.
She also teaches as an adjunct professor at Pace University, Purchase College, and New York University. Her courses include environmental law, policy and
the integration of nature and culture in both the M.S. in Environmental Science and undergraduate Environmental
Studies programs.
Land earned her Juris Doctor degree and certificate in environmental law from Pace University School of Law in 2002,
where she was Editor-in-Chief of the Pace Environmental Law Review. She received her Bachelor of Science degree, with
honors, in the specialization of Wildlife Biology, from the University of Guelph, Ontario.
Prior to attending law school, Land worked for five years as a wildlife biologist at the World Bird Sanctuary in St.
Louis, Missouri. While at WBS she directed field studies, supervised environmental education programs and participated
in the rehabilitation, propagation and reintroduction of birds of prey. |

| Staff Associate's Biography |

Donna Kowal
Donna Kowal is the Staff Associate for the Environmental Consortium. She is a 1994 graduate of Berkeley College in White Plains where she obtained her Associates Degree in the Paralegal program. She is currently working towards her Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Studies at Pace University.
In addition to working for the Consortium, Donna has been the staff associate for Pace Academy for the Environment since September 2003. In her spare time she enjoys volunteering at a local preserve and for a citizen's group, the Kensico Environmental Enhancement Program, which she served as secretary from 2002-2004.
